Yesterday I went to an antique fair with the intention of just looking. It’s fun to look at antiques – it gives you a chance to reminisce about old times and to ponder things you have never seen before.

But the first stall I came to had brightly lite trays of ‘eye candy’ for girls – rings of course. And the middle one caught my eye, a sparkling ruby and diamond ring. I had to try it on – a perfect fit mind you! The gentlemen explained that it was indeed an old ring and the rubies and diamonds had been verified.

It was gorgeous but I was just looking so I left it there… but I do hope my husband goes back and buys it for my birthday!

    1. Jewelry Making Tools Says:

There are some home methods of testing the authenticity of metals and gems. Gold testing kits fairly common nowadays. Vintage jewelry great to peruse and gaze at, especially for inspiration, but I love making my own jewelry, just the way I like it!
